Cotton Rope, Sisal or Hemp: You will not find any toys created on this site for small critters or rabbits containing any cotton rope, sisal or hemp fibers. Since small critters & rabbits consume instead of shred, & these products are made from long fibers that are able to get bound up in the animal's gut & cause blockage since they are not known to easily brake down in the stomach. Instead, paper rope & paper string is used...USA-C. (NOTE:if you purchase an avian toy containing any of these fibers for your small critter or rabbit, you are totally responsible for any issues) |
Corn Husk: I was able to find unsulfured product coming in from Mexico. **** I don't use any Dried Fruits that contain sulfur in any bird toy creations, nor will I in small animal/rabbits toys...

Pine Wood: No pine wood is used due to some small animals & rabbits could have allergies. **** Only Certified Organic Apple Wood, Birch, sustainable farming Grapewood & Willow will be.

Jingle Bells: The openings in the bells...a tongue, toes, lips or teeth could get caught in those open spaces. Nor are they used in creating bird toys either for the same reason.

Pine Cones: Are an excellent toy!! Natural Foraging fun!! The pine cones species that GFBToys chooses to use do not contain 'pitch' (that sticky stuff) on them. Most of these cones may still contain pine seed or nuts & are harvested from forests within the USA...

Why the use of The Parrot Rings, Barrels & Pudgies, Nubbies over toilet paper rolls & paper towel rolls... The Parrot Rings, Barrels & Pudgies, Nubbies cardboard tubes are safe to use, to be chewed on...even if they sit soaking in a water dish for the day. They are non-toxic from the paper to the glue used. No scents or flavoring are added either. These products should replace the toilet paper & paper towels rolls...generally a chemical based glue is used, it's cheap. Then there are the tubes used with scented toilet paper or the heavily chemical processed paper towels…these chemicals can leech into the cardboard tube... How about soaking in a water dish for a day?? or in your creature's saliva as they chew, carry or stuff in their face. |
